If you want to upgrade some components, you'll have to void the warranty to open the system, because they use the good old warranty control sticker. And here's the ultimate kicker on that: if you need to use the warranty, you're relatively screwed. They seem to have only 3 solution steps for any problem: 1) chipset/driver update, 2) factory reset, 3) MAIL-IN warranty service (takes about 3-4 weeks). Who wants to buy a new system and then ship it off to the depot for 3-4 weeks? Yeah, really thrilled me too.
So my experience 1: the HD started to fail on day 2. SMART warned of imminent failure. Wasted 2 days waiting for them to tell me to submit RMA because I chose tech support email which is apparently for incredibly complicated things like "I can't figure out which USB slot to use for the mouse." Finally got the RMA put in and at least they covered shipping both ways. Sent off on Nov 30, got back Dec 24. Really slow service, but I can't repair myself without voiding the warranty and they won't send me the HD so I'd have to buy my own to fix my brand new computer. So, ok, I get that they don't want customers inside the box, because they don't want to pay for my mistakes.
About 1 week after I get the system back: Keyboard stopped typing numbers 1-4 and 7-0. Contacted warranty about that. Same 3 solution steps for a partial keyboard failure as for an imminent hard drive failure. Told them keyboard exhibited exact same behavior on different system. Same answers still. Told them that a keyboard from another system worked fine with the computer. Asked how the chipset would fix a keyboard that had identical problems on different system. Same answers still. Updated the chipset. Amazingly, that didn't fix the keyboard. (I know, it's a shocker). Now it's down to: factory reset the system (which is like the ultimate "have you tried turning it off and on again"), or mail it in and let them do it. I can't just send them the broken keyboard to get a replacement, they want the whole system. For another 3-4 weeks. Then they asked if they could help me out with anything else. So I told them no, I can see that I'm on my own to fix a problem they created with sub-standard components. Then they told me they couldn't help me if I didn't do what they asked. Because everyone knows, if the keyboard fails, it's TOTALLY time to reinstall windows and all your programs.
So I bought a new keyboard from amazon for $10, and I hope to save you my frustration. Buy from different manufacturer. I will in the future!
Onto the review, this computer is very good for a high 600 low 700 dollar price range. You literally can't beat it by building a PC. The CPU is a little overboard for what most will need, but it is an excellent one. The graphics card is good, nothing for any high end video gaming but great for daily use. The case looks nice and is quite. Has new features like the 3.1 USB that may be very helpful in future. Keyboard and mouse are alright and still work for me. I tried using a logitech wireless mouse, the unifying ones, and I couldn't get it to work, no idea why. With a SSD upgrade down the line and a new graphics card, if ever needed, this PC is a boss.
***Something happened when they went on vacation and it doesn't turn on. I am now dealing with ASUS and have to send the whole PC in to them. this is really inconvenient, but I think I will comply and send it in. I believe the problem is a bad PSU (power supply unit). Don't know why it went bad cause it was unplugged from the outlet. I opened the PC to take out the HD and pack it up. The computer can't turn on so ow am I supposed to back up the data!! I swear support people are dumb with the suggestions they make........ So I am sorry if you are not tech savy and have a problem like this. We have a back up computer 2009? Imac, so sending it away isn't a big deal. I will add to this review how much time it takes to get back.
Even LinusTechTips says these things are great for the buy "buying a gaming PC at bestbuy" you can watch that video, but its not the exact same model, just the M32CD.
Thumbs up or down and comment if you have questions. I am happy to respond quickly if amazon sends me a notification.
